Welcome: |
We encourage bellringing of all standards in the tower, mainly method but also call-changes,
and we welcome ringers of all persuasions.
If you are ever in the area please drop in on a practice night, or Sunday morning.
We offer a warm welcome, even in the colder months!
|
Location: |
Multimap
shows the location most clearly.
On the Google Map,
the Church is at the top of the arrow at this magnification.
|
The Bells: |
Dove's Guide
gives details of weights, founders, grid reference etc.
They are an easy going 8, fitted with Hastings Stays and shear pins on the front 4,
which is supposed to mean that we only have to replace a peg in the event of a breakage.

The practice is divided into four sections.
1. The computer produces ringing on varying numbers of bells,
with various striking errors, in and out of method, for you to detect.
2. Similar sorts of challenges will be provided from audio recordings
using the 'Listen To Ringing Live!' CD.
3. A short session of ringing with the computer, using the keyboard
- rounds, call changes, plain hunt, method or touches, on as many bells as you choose.
4. Finally, the same again, but ringing a tower bell through the computer.
This is intended for small groups so please contact the tower captain to book a place
(See Contacts). |
Starter Sessions: |
We also hold special learners/introductory sessions, as and when required, using the simulator. |
Simulator: |
We have a Beltower simulator and a single sensor,
allowing a ringer to practise listening and striking, and to ring challenging methods, on up to 16 bells,
with a perfect band.
It is available for use at normal practices, listening practices, starter sessions
or at any other time, by prior arrangement.
